Okay so I haven't posted in a while. I should probably get in the habit of posting more often. The only problem is I either don't have anything to say or I'm too busy. Either way I usually don't get a round to it. I'll work on it. So a lot had happened since the last time I posted. Seth wanted us to just do the courthouse thing next month and just get it over with. We've had a few arguments about it because it isn't what I want to do and I'm not ready to get married next month. But we've worked things out. We don't have a set date right now but we'll get around to that.
I also started school for the semester. I'm really enjoying my classes so far. I just hope it stays that way. I managed to keep from having to buy a parking pass for the semester. This year it would cost me $400 to park on campus. I'm not about to do all that when I can just ride with my brother to school and ride home with my momma.
Another exciting thing... I got a job!! I'm so excited. I'm not a bartender at a place called Hooper's Tavern. I love it. It's like a little hole in the wall type of place. It's kind of a biker bar. I love the people who go there, they are awesome. So far I'm making pretty good money. I love it.
Everything seems to be going well right now. I've plans for the weekend that I'm excited about. I work 12-6 on Friday then I'm gonna pick up a bottle of wine and go spend the night with my friend Megan and we are gonna have a girls night. Then Saturday I work 12-6 again then once I get off work I'm gonna head to Rockingham to meet my bestie Tory for dinner. She lives about 3 hours away from me so we are gonna meet halfway. Then Sunday I get to work my first closing shift!! Woo! Closing shifts have more people come in so that means more money! I can't wait. Plus it's labor day so I don't have class on Monday and tomorrow my last two classes of the day are canceled. I'm just excited about the weekend. I just wish I could see Seth too. I miss him.

Wedding?? Yes please.
What I posted last night, I posted from my iPod so sorry if the spelling was terrible. I also couldn't post pictures so I'm going to add some pictures of my engagement ring and a picture or two of me and Seth. Since I'm going to be blogging about the process of getting married to my military man, I'll also post some of my wedding ideas on here to get some opinions.
When he asked me to marry him I knew it was coming because he had talked about it but I was shocked that he had gotten that ring. He had showed it to me then told me it was too expensive, turns out he was just trying to throw me off. I went to visit him the week after my birthday and when I got there he was bursting with excitement so he just gave me the ring in his barracks room. A few days later we went for a walk down at the National Harbor and it was so pretty so he asked me to give him the ring back so he could do it the right way. It was so sweet.
So on to some wedding ideas. I found a wedding dress that I want, I would post a picture on here but I'd rather Seth not see it. But I also found the bridesmaids dresses that I want. I'll have my maid of honor, Tory, in "pool" and my bridesmaids, Kendall and Megan, in "clover." Seth and I were thinking about March 17th but the other day Seth and I were talking and Seth really doesn't want to wait that long. I came up with December 31st. I thought it would be cute to get married on the last day of the year. I guess it isn't set in stone yet but Seth liked the idea as well. He wants to get married in his Coast Guard uniform. I'm excited about that, he looks great in it. Of course I'm going to have his triplet sisters be my flower girls, they are the cutest little things ever. I'm so excited about marrying the love of my life, it's all I think about.
The wedding planning is kind of difficult with Seth so far away. It's hard to make decisions without him here to help me with them. He likes to be involved which I love but it's difficult but so is every other part of a long distance relationship. It'll all be over with soon and we'll be together all the time!
Sethy did a great job picking out this ring. It is even prettier in person. |
The day Seth left for boot camp. It was so hard letting him leave. |
Seth's sisters are the cutest girls ever. Love them. |

Well hello changes!
My name is Helen. I use to blog back in midle school but I kind of got to the point in my life where I had nothing interesting to blog about anymore. Now I've made some changes in my life recently and my life is so much better. I've got so much going on that I'm excited about.
Back at the end of March I met a guy who is the sweetest person I've ever known. I met him on Facebook and we exchanged numbers and started texting a lot. After we finally met in person I knew almost imediatly that I had a thing for this guy. About a month after we started dating he has to leave... He had joined the US Coast Guard and had to leave for bootcamp. He was gone for bootcamp for two full months which was really hard but we made it throuh it and that time he was gone I gained a wonderful new family.
Seth's family is absolutely wonderful. I love them so much. His dad is amazing and his momma is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. He's also got 3 sisters. Those girls are the cutest things ever. They are 11 years old and are about to start middle school. Yes, they are all 11, they are triplets. I love his family so much. I have even talked to some of his other family members online and I love them all. I have found the most awesome family in the world to be a part of.
So back to the story of me and Seth. While he was in bootcamp he started talking about us getting marrried in some of his letters. When he came home he started talking about it more and more. At the end of his week home he had to report to his duty station. He was stationed in DC. It was hard letting him leave again but I've gotten to go visit him several times since he went up there. Now we are talking about a date for the wedding and plans for me to move up there with him. I know the military life isn't glamorous but I see it as a new aventure and as long as Seth and I do it together we will be alright.
I'm excited about all the wonderful adventures that await me. And I'm extremely excited about being a coastie wife!!!
